@ShiftNMove If thats what it was my leg is fine now. I ended up babying my leg for almost a solid week and used Ibuprofen as directed for the whole time. I had never had that happen to me before and it was so annoying and painful. but all was well after a week or so. staying off it was the hard part

I am training for a marathon and recently developed ITBS. How long should I take off from my training and do these exercises before going back to training?
-
what about core strength and posture? does this affect knee pain while running?
-
I rest my leg for 2 days and it feels great till I use it alot(especially walking down stairs) ...then it hurts again. How long till the inflammation goes away? Stay off it for weeks?

Yes core strength and posture is crucial, mainly pelvis and hip stability because it affects your kinetic chain. So stretching and core stability is the 1-2 punch to get ITB Syndrome and out of your life. Just posted a video on kinetic chain and hip stability on our site, this will explain it in more detail, thanks for your question.

Sorry for responding this slow. You did the first step absolutely correct. Rest your leg, second step is to correct the root cause of your ITB. Could be shoes, but most likelt muscle imbalance.Grab a free copy of RX-Method at our site.
