This is the first time I hear that it took Moshoeshoe and Troika 9 days to travel from Butha Buthe to Thaba Bosiu. I have always been under impression it was 3 days...

Honest and authentic

I wish the San were not called "bushmen." Thats what the Europeans called them when they arrived in south africa, and unfortunately it stuck, and now everyone calls them that. It's very very rude!!

basotho were not known for driving people out...we assimilated not anhilated...people get away from the colonial history of lesotho. when people wrote that history they did not ask us about it
-
Also they were not driven into the Kalahari! Bushmen in Lesotho and the South Africa were either killed in reprisals for well-justified stock raids, or became absorbed and acculturated into Black farmers' cultures. Therefore they became culturally extinct.

Its a shame he says the Bushmen lived like wild animals - this is not a BaSotho tradition but rather a colonial justification for clearing them out of the Cape etc. Many BaSotho were on very good terms with the Bushmen and many also were related by marriage. Moorosi of the BaPhuthi had at least two Bushman wives.
