Ubuntu 9.10 Overview of Improvements

Ubuntu Karmic Koala is the new version of Ubuntu. It will be available for download 10-29-2009. Major improvements are discussed in this video. They include Ubuntu Software Center, Ubuntu One (file sharing), testing for fingerprint reader and peripheral devices. The sound and Video settings are improved and the overall feel of the system is very nice with very little configuration involved.

i have a question. When i do the install without any changes can i download any software or change the graphics while im in the test ubuntu, cuz i cant. Is this normal or does it mean that it wont run properly and can i boot back to windows when i install it?

Are you meaning try ubuntu with changes??

yes this would be normal on the liveCD as they call it.

This method is used to check to see if it works and temp or fix mode

my computer came out of the factory with Vista, and it sucks. my computer crashes about 2 times a month. I installed ubuntu 9.10 and I love it! Im not coming back to Windows ever again.

You told people what they added and fixed...

Now let me tell you what they removed, and broke ...

1. The sound was working "Linux MultiMedia Studio" now it is not ... and you have to jump hoops to get it to work... and the same sound problems is in the Frozen-Bubble ... all caused by them fixing things... but now Kdenlive, KompoZer work fine...

2. they removed the ability to easily edit the long-in screen, saying it would speed boot time... but the web is now running slower for me...
