This is a personal project that started as my final project for the Animation program at Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Israel and after graduating I kept working on it to finish it alone. This is the Work in Progress version, which includes the entire rough animation with a bit of colored scenes. This is a combined project of Liron Peer (Me, and I'm a woman btw!) and another guy, who dropped the project at an early stage and therefore all you see here was mostly done by me alone (I did the entire animation in the film). WIP Original Score by Assaf Rinde (This is NOT whats in the final version because of different composers).
And I do NOT work for Disney or any other large company (I'm actually unemployed at the moment). I wish to work for them, so if anyone can help me with that I'd take anything you can give me. I already submitted a portfolio to DisneyCareer.com .

These are some repeating questions I keep getting from you my beloved fans:
For a huge article about animation and Lady Ice that I wrote please go to: http://news.deviantart.com/article/103944/

- I don't know English, what will I do?
* There are no words in the movie. You don't need to understand English to understand the movie.

- Where is Bezalel located?
* In Israel, but it's not that great. Most of what you see here is due a lot of self hard work and self teaching from the best teachers in the world - Disney movies.

- What programs did you use?
* The animation was done traditionally, meaning using pencil and paper and a thing called light table to see the layers. Then I scanned everything and cleaned up in painter, colored in Photoshop and edited in CTP and Premiere. Read more in the article (see above).

- I didn't get entire the plot??
* This is a work in progress and a lot of elements (such as special effects) are missing, so it's kinda hard to get the plot. See the final version for a better understanding of the plot.

- This is really going to be a real movie??
* Not a full length movie. What you see here, all colored with finished music and effects. See the final version 7min long.

- I love the way Lady Ice's (is that her name or the name of the film?) hair flows all the time.
* Yes, that's her name, and her hair changes all the time just like nature never the same and yet in an endless cycle.

- Did you draw all this yourself?
* Yes, every frame you see here! By hand! No computer cheating.

Of course feel free to write to me any comment/question you have and I'd gladly reply to you.

  • great work...Where would you tell someone to start, that wanted to be an animator?

  • @Diamonddusted68 Please read my article, link in movie info (sorry, I can't post links here). Thank you.

  • I like the combination of rough, clean and colored ^^ I think the rough/cleaning parts, which are only lines are most interesting, especially for the Lady.

I would love to know if you have found work yet? 'Cause I'm now studying animation for.... well 3 Months now and now doing my first short animation, and exercises and so on. How long have you studyied for that? (my formation is about 2 Years long with additional 6 Weeks working in the job itself)

  • @NonosDrawer I studied for 4 years and have a degree in animation. I worked for 2 years at an animation company called "animated storyboards" doing flash animation. then I quit and worked as a freelancer for a couple of months. now I work for a new upcoming animation company called "4th dimension entertainment" with several interesting projects on the way.

I will admit, it's not easy finding a job in animation, but if you love it, don't give up!!!

  • how did u do this by ur self anyways??

  • @Tinak00777 with a lot of hard work.

  • i saw this on deviant art before utube

  • tough work...i too make storyboards but deal wid pencil sketches ..is it necessary to make coloured drawings?? if yes then where its imp to make coloured frames??

  • sir, can you help me animate like that !

  • @lpdisney Thank you very much for the answer ^^

I think in Luxembourg I'll have good chances to find a job in animation, but I don't know if they are very.... intersting. Bu at least it would be a job ^^

  • I am going into the animation feild as well. I have wanted to work for Disney since I was ten and now I am eighteen and I still have that goal. I think you are definitely good enough to work for Disney. Heck, maybe one day both of our dreams will come true and we will both be working for Disney.

  • There's no reason for you to work at Disney.

You are (at least) as good as they are, and you should do your own projects.

  • I saw the end result, it ended out REALLY good! :D

    Better than Disney!

  • @x979023x About 4500 kind of...

  • Awesome. I always loved to watch the pencil test in animation (not sure why). I just love the way the lines look. So smooth and curved. When I draw I attempt to get my lines to look like yours.

  • This is incredible

  • wow the animation was just gorgeous (i probably spelled that wrong i know)

  • @lpdisney dude really??? am so disappointed.this looks like it could be a really good movie.so what are their names?it's pretty clear this ice chick made a mistake and feels bad.i can also tell that she's falling for the dude, but he wants nothing to do with the girl who KILLED his parents.but i am sad to see that this is all.oh well maybe this will be a full movie someday,i know for a fact i would see it for sure.you are truly amazing. but i still wish this was a real movie.

  • @TheSchiggi All my life I guess. at least 15 years.

  • @FightsRightsAlways No. this is just a short I did. This here is the work in progress. see on my channel the final version. And yes! those 7 minutes are all there is, no more.

  • @MrBat3man First of all this is the work in progress version. you can see on my channel the final version. Also if you don't understand the plot then I guess I didn't do my job, but I really can't start explaining here, right?

  • what is the movie about

  • so well this be a real movie, cause i really want to see it.

  • its a wounderful film how long do you need to drawing so well

  • @x979023x regular printer paper. There should be a special paper for animation, but it's not sold here. so i did this on a regular 80gr size A3 paper (I like to draw on large paper). scanned it with an A3 scanner we had at school. but you can also do animation on regular A4 paper, I used that as well. good luck!
