One of my first videos; a response to PWitness' response to a partial-preterist video. Although PWitness has long dropped his video, I concede the argument now that I do not hold to the full-preterist possition. Nevertheless, I still hold a similar preterist view and this video remains for educational purposes. Please use discernment! It should mean something that I held to the possition for about 6 years and do not hold to it anymore.

  • Two Spanish Jesuits rose to the challenge of counter-reforming the Reformer's view of the papacy as antichrist.

    Luis de Alcasar=Preterism.

Franciso Ribera=Futurism. Both endeavored to divert men's minds from the Reformer's views of the papacy. Don't fall for Preterism or dispensaionalist Futurism. Both are false systems of eschatology.

  • rkg62976 just wanted to say I am a mainstream believer you could say....can you help me with this preterism view. Am I missing something here. I am trying to refute this stuff some is a little difficult. I was hoping you could cut me off at the pass. any info would be helpful

  • I hold that Christ will one day come again bodily in His humanity and Glory and will raise the physical bodies of all men and women to Judge them in the future at an appointed time. I could chat with you some, I will contact you shortly, Lord willing.

  • Have you read John Robbin's article on the Antichrist?

  • Our positions now probably align very closely...

  • Yes, I bet so! Grace to you!

  • Ok,tyvm for reply.Could you be kind enuff to direct to a site that where I can learn more about the Historicist viewpoint? Im a former Dispensationalist whos looking for answers.

  • The historicist position is the most biblically consistent method of interpretation in the area of eschatology. The historicist position was promulgated by the great Protestant Reformation.

Both preterism and futurism were a part of the counter-Reformation and were taught by the Jesuits.

Futurism was promulgated by Francisco Ribera, S.J. and continued by Robert Bellarmine, S.J.

Futurism infected Protestantism in the 19th century by people like J.N. Darby, E. Irving, and C.I. Scofield.

  • If Jesuits are behind both Preterism and Futurism, then what is the proper way to interpret Scripture???

  • What is your question in reference to?

  • then what is the correct way to beleive?

  • The Preterist system of biblical eschatology was re-introduced into Christendom primarily through the teachings and writings of the Jesuit priest Luis de Alcazar. He was censured, however, by other Jesuits who promoted Futurism. Both systems, Preterism and Futurism, were determined to nullify the Protestant DAY=YEAR principle for the time prophecies of antichrist. Both systems saw the 1260 days as literal time, rather than 1260 literal YEARS. I believe historic Protestantism was correct.

  • Hey, Bibletouchstone. I have not read John Robbins' article on the antichrist. Could you send me a link?

I have read his book, "Ecclesiastical Megalomania", and it is an excellent study into the Roman system of Government. But I would love to hear what he has to say about antichrist.
