  • Yes...I wasjust responding to the question in the description regarding the bus at :04... The MCI designation is a D4000 which is the 40 footer....The 45 footers have a D4500 designation...Both models run through there.....a quick spotting feature of the 45 footers is more length and overhang behind the rear wheels.......Red and Tan was absorbed into the Coach USA company...so nowadays only have the Red and Tan name on the nose below the windshield.

I regularly railfan CSX around Bear Mtn.

  • thank you.

i usually railfan CSX around congers. nice to hear from a railfan from the Hudson Valley!

  • Yes, I often hike up to the top of Breakneck Ridge, Dunderberg Mountain, and Anthony's Nose Mountain in the Hudson Valley to shoot pics and video of an elevated view of the Riverline and Hudson Line.....

  • i usually railfan around Congers "Station" park. it's a good place to railfan, you got to have patience when they come.

  • what line and where is this at?

  • Pascack Valley line. in Nanuet, over by the Nanuet mall

  • yes. those old GP units are being replaced by those "newer" PL42AC's. these particular units (GP40PH-2)'s were rebuilds from the CNJ GP40P's. But you are right on the rebuilds.

  • you mean thost Transport of Rockland busses? those things are always around here.

  • Also, those older GP40 engines are a vanishing breed on NJ transit...If memory serves me correctly, those GP's were rebuilt at the Juniata Locomotive shops in Altoona Pennsylvania and are ex-Conrail GP40's.....

  • Looks like you are sitting in the Macys lot at The Nanuet Mall (I work at the Mall).....That bus looks like an MCI Coach USA -Red and Tan Lines 40 footer.....I also see the MCI 45 foot long busses used through there.....I often sit outside on my lunch breaks and watch the NJ transit trains and MCI busses roll by.
