Ethiopia - Mursi tribe

The Mursi (or Murzu) are a nomadic cattle herder ethnic group located in the Debub Omo Zone of the Southern Nations, Nationalities, and People's Region in Ethiopia, close to the Sudanese border. The estimated population of the Mursi is 6-10,000
Surrounded by mountains between the Omo River and its tributary the Mago, the home of the Mursi is one of the most isolated regions of the country. Their neighbors include the Aari, the Banna, the Bodi, the Kara, the Kwegu, the Me'en the Nyangatom and the Suri. They are grouped together with the Me'en and Suri by the Ethiopian government under the name Surma.

That's not protecting their culture, that's isolating and underestimate them. And that's wrong. It's only up to them what they want to do. If a person of their tribe wants to know our culture, whe te hell are we to kick him or her out?

You are talking as if they are some kind of animals. They are human beings just like you and me.

I think it's enough to respect them and their culture as equals. And its different from isolate them and their culture to protect some kind of pureness.

This is probably not the best place to debate as such, but if you said to someone 'I'm going to make all women to undergo painful procedures such as inserting a plate in their lips, ears and inserting lavae (I think) in their skin' you'd think 'that's abhorrent'. When you bring the word 'history' and 'culture' into it, it's acceptable. Shouldn't the people have a choice at least? I too find this video fascinating, thank you for uploading it.
