Though some solarization in the sun reflection off the water, helmet cam is definitely the ticket. Great vid. - Fun-ass conditions. Kick-ass surf, BTW! Any chance of mounting a deck cam to the bow (looking back) and shooting simultaneous, then split between the two views during editing?
BTW, bunge44, that's 3-4' surf by my estimate - always different from a different viewpoint (i.e.-helmet cam). And local conditions often differ from the open water conditions predicted .
Wet suits are for winter in the tropics or summer in the great lakes. I've had days guiding where we have worried about hypothermia in the middle of august. But it really is great to paddle in shorts, your skirt and pfd and be warm.
Great job Mitch, keep paddling, I love the videos. I'm curious, what make of helmet camera you're using

Oh yeah, great split paddle roll. Played with that in the pool for just your circumstance, but never needed to put it in effect. Outstanding.
Out of curiosity, what pre-storm were you paddling and how close before? (Or after if hitting the residual?)
