what a passion to teach jews about jews! Any Convert to judaism is also a jew, you are inplying however that, puertorricans are jews without any lieneage or evidence what so ever. The majority of spaniards were not jews and then came the indian african mix so unless they convert according to jewish law they have no connection with jews. Even when there are some customs that were jewish it is still no evidence of being jews.

Not really. The Spanish Inquisition has all ancestral records in Sevilla, Spain. All Boricuas who trace their ancestry to Sefardic Jews can readily find their family histories there. Read Cecil Roth's books for some info on this matter.

How interesting it is to know that most Boricuas can actually trace their ancestry to the Jews of the Bible!

records from 500 years ago will "verify" he is a jew....today because they have same last name? Judaism is matrilineal and last names will not help anyone. yes there is an early jewish history in spain and latin america but tho trace?

@1400deadwood yes they are! jews (the real ones) get married only to jews with at least 10 poeple present and a preforming Rabbi, With a mariage contract clearly stating who they are ,with two witnesses that know who they are.

Boricuas (if they get married at all ...60% dont) get married with whom they feel like. The major problem after that is divorce judaism has rules that set how to do a divorce and will not recognize any legal divorce outside judaism. Lets get real cecil is a christian

Instead, they exiled los Marranos condenados. Again, the records of the Inquisition are available in Sevilla and these have been used by historians to show corelations between Sefardis and Borciuas. These actions resulted in the 'conversion' to Judaism by their spouses. Conversion is, of course, a popularly accepted term though without basis as you don't convert to a new ethnic identity. This because Judaism is an ethnic identity, not a religion according to the Old Testament.

@violinistapr ~ I assume you are aware that PR's use both the patronymic and matronymic when identifying themselves. This establishes one's identity and ancestry. The Spanish Inquisition used these records to establish who were judios & pursuant to the evil Edict of 1479 exiled all those whose family names were found to be ''tainted'' by Judaic bloodlines. All or most PRs fall within this purview & explains why your ancestors were exiled into this remote but beautiful island. That's history.

@jne4eva ~ yes, that is precisely the book. Years ago I asked my Mom ~ didn't you know Yahshuah/Jesus was Puerto Rican? for some reason she could not bring herself to believe it even though it is historical fact (in a sense).

As for spodiks, the Bible says not to engage in heathen practices. I suggest such headwear is contrary to our historic practice or in compliance with biblical law. Marranos are Abraham's seed & that is how you define 'Jews'. You don't convert, you must descend from him.
