Motorcycle Chase Via Helicopter - 155 MPH

This video, released by York Regional Police, shows how the force's Air2 helicopter became involved in a high-speed chase with a motorcycle that ended with dangerous driving charges against a Vaughan man.

The chase began after York police traffic officers saw a motorcycle driver, with a passenger on the back, allegedly speeding on Yonge St. in Richmond Hill around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday.

After a ground pursuit, the chopper joined the chase from the air. York police say the motorcycle was travelling up to 250 km/h at one point as Air2 tailed it for about 20 minutes on highways and city streets.

The suspect stopped the motorcycle and fled on foot in Vaughan. He was arrested there a short time later.

Something is very fucking wrong with the system when we commit thousands of dollars worth of helicopter and cruiser fuel to pursue a speeding bike that probably weights all of 400 pounds.

@twopie2 lol those police helicopter you guys have is like mocking us, if u ever listen to police scanner you will know toronto police need one like people with guns and criminals get away even murderers cause the police will be chasing them and they run into some dark place and the police set up perimeters and wait for a k-9 takes a long time, i have seen it first hand a police chase ended and a officer told me if it was ok i take a long way home so i don't interfere withscent i said noproblem

@CovertOPSDragunov You are correct in the fact that Toronto needs a helicopter alot more than York Region does. That thing flies over my house all the time making lots of noise and ticking people off and really not doing much. Read the helicopter reports on yrp.ca a helicopter up all night for no reason, just an expensive toy....tons of cops in York region already and here they are asking for more.
