Hello. Its Larva agains next 3do game, Heroes2 this time. I'm doing a run for Succesion Wars campaing, but then I will go through Price of Loyalty as well.
Few notes:
1. This game is diffrent than Heroes1, you will need more tactics and regular game is generally harder. You have more choices, more random opportunities and this makes game more intresting than first part. The campaing is A LOT easier than Heroes1 campaing, especially if you are driving good way. I'm showing here the best way of beating campaing, and this is helping ogres instead of necromancers (scenario 4instead of 3). Also, I'm taking addtional scenario 7 that gives "dragon allaince".
2. This game is a lot more detailed than Heroes1. Here, it really pays to have many heroes travelling around land, because there are a lot of places to visit. Some of them yield creatures, some other bonuses. Its not like in Heroes1: open land, resources, monsters, towns and mines. There are much more possibilities.
3. There are six castles, each one is good. There are something like three "classes" of towns. Knight and Barbarians have weak forces, weak magic, but they are easy to develop and their forces still do good damage. Warlock and Wizard are pure spellcasters with very strong forces, especially the last units - Dragons and Titans are unbeatable in numbers. Third class is "weird" castles - they have mid magic and good forces, but they are oriented in some ways. For example, sorceress is based on shooting units, their walkers and flyers are weak. While necro is based on thousands of skeletons. Skeleton is best 1st level unit and in good numbers they are doing thousands of damage.
4. Hero is offered by some secondary skills. Some of them are good, while others are crap. Wisdom, Logistics, Estates, Archery are good skills, while for example Scouting, Navigation are crap.
5. There are much more buildings to build in town, but not so much are really useful. You have to develop both arrow towers and moat as every other structure, costing 1.500 gold +5 ore for each tower and bare 750 gps for moat. It means that you have to pay 3750 gp for full defending castle (or 5250 if you are a knight and use "fortification" addon).
Castles are easier to take than in Heroes 1, in which you could defend the city with few shooters. This is because offensive magic is more popular and AI beseigeing castle will often spam you with lighting bolts/magic arrows/cold rays till you are dead. Also, two towers and garrison are destructible, so if expert balistic guy attack you, you are without firepower after few turns. In H1, main tower was indestructible.

Scenario 04 "Turning Point"
This is really EASY scenario if you are playing with ogre alliance. There are few ogres (about 10) just west from your home and in center of map, there are two packs and hill fort near. With 60+ ogres you can handle every opponent on this map, as I do. I have choosen Necromancer because it starts with haste spell, which is useful for ogres.
How long did that map take on realtime?
