i would have tried grinding off the lip on the bottom of the bucket and maybe the cover would have screwed tightly to the bottom. also an extra gasket in between,

@gonicjon No extra gasket needed, it drips directly down by the wonders of gravity....and grinding anything won't help, the concave curve on the lid to the bottom bucket is too much and the nipple on the ceramic filter is only an inch long.

You can save even more money by going to your local walmart to get your "food grade" buckets. Go to the deli and ask them for their left over frosting buckets that they used for the cakes. They have to pay to dispose of them, so giving them away is no problem.
