Final Fantasy XII: Yiazmat Final Moments

Well, I decided to record my battle with Yiazmat after I defeated him yesterday. This took longer than the last one because Yiazmat wouldn't get lured to my Darkra traps.

This time I played in my room instead of the living room, so I could make this recording possible.

A couple of questions:

1. How did you get Fran to target without the action being cancelled or without her moving?

2. How did you get yaizmat to stop casting his buffs?

1.) She doesn't have any gambits on, leaving her to stay where she is. If she had gambits on, she would just go after Yiazmat, which is not wanted. Always keep Attack active or else Yiazmat will regenerate all his HP rapidly.

2.) Delay with party spell casting. He won't buff at all at that rate, including Growing Threat, which would reduce Darkra's damage output to 6,999.

O.O... so u did 5000 darka spells on him?...wow...

Yep, most of them dealt 9999, and the ones that didn't were when Yiazmat had Shell on and I didn't cast Faith with Fran, since she had Mirror Mail and Opal Ring.

With Darkga, only 1 spell goes at a time compared to Darkra, which can be casted two times at once.

Cheap trick but effective. Certainly makes those last 5 bars easier. :o)

Yeah, this was the best way for me because of my heavy work schedule with homework.

The only hard part of it was luring Yiazmat to that spot along with keeping my Attack distraction on him.

I was messing around with casting weaker levels of Dark until I stumbled that Darkra worked much more effectively than Darkga.

Earlier I had Fran with Opal Ring so that she could cast Faith on Ashe/Penelo whenever Yiazmat was under Shell.

If I get to Yiazmat in IZJS, Speed Button should work well :o

Thanks a lot for this. By the way, i managed to use Darkga and make it bounce 3 times. Also, if Yiazmat uses shell and other stuff, just wait for him to ready a self spell and quickly get near him just until the arrow goes yello and have dispel on him, you will dispel him, then go back to behind the wall. You can manage to dispel his ass in order to avoid the annoying shell, eventually he will get stuck on the death atttack and you wont need to do it. Thanks again.
