  • Thats the one!!!! Oh I thank you so much for finding this special song!!! This reaches down into your soul. Thank you, Thank you thank you thank you. I have always loved this song and have searched for it high and low and never could find it!!!! thank you again for bringing back a wonderful song that brings back my childhood days. Hovie and the Statesmen are and will be my favorites!!!

thank you for such a great blessing!!!!

  • You're most welcome. I'm pleased that the song was still as sweet as your memory of it after all these many years. I see you also discovered the other two of my own, all time favorites of the Statesmen. Enjoy!

  • OH MY YES!! Its so wonderful to be able to hear the gospel greats! I learned something this morning from my mom, I called her and told her what you songs you had on youtube and I had to ask her did Jake Hess sing with the Statesmen see I was too young at the time to recall whom I seen on that gospel show at that time. Today, I think and ask questions so posing that question to mom she said yes most definitely that was Jake. Thank you so much again, keep'em singing!!!

    God Bless YOU!!!

  • Yes... Jake appears to be in all the selections on this CD but because of his receding hairline, you may not recognize him on the CD jacket - middle row, right side. Also in all the selections of this CD are Doy Ott and "Big Chief" Jim Wetherington and of course, Hovie Lister.

The tenor, Denver Crumpler is pictured here (right side, back row) but Rosie Rozell replaced Denver in some of the selections.

    Cheers!

  • I sometimes would play this song for my kids after arriving home from church around Sunday noontime, as a means of conveying to them what I was then "treasuring".

And, they remember . . . and will after I'm gone, I think.

  • Anytime I am having a bad day or hard time, I just listen to this song... Sometimes three or four times, and I feel so much better and at peace. God Bless.

  • In my opinion, this is one of their best songs.

  • These songs are beautiful. I know the difference in the voices of Crumpler and Rosie. Crumpler couldn't be beat but Rosie is right in there. thank you again.
