@STORM6490MT the reason that alot of smaller European cars aren't in the states is because they can't match up to crash safety standards. The reason US doesn't have more diesels is because finding quality, properly mixed diesel can be a pain and in colder climates it's even more important. I'm not too sure about DAF and Scandia efficiency, but it does seem like there are fewer and fewer cab over models in the US, again it could be because of crash safety ratings.

I will pay cash at the dealer if they can get me the 1.6l diesel. Lots of Americans want diesel but we have some stupid law that prevents the more economical european passenger cars from being imported. I'm guessing it is because of Big oil and American car companies. They say it is emissions but that is a load of crap. If that were so, you would see more economical freight trucks and semi trucks. Like the DAF and Scandia rigs in europe.
