When we had to return our rifles to the armory, they had to be spotless. You could wear a white glove and run your finger inside the upper receiver through the ejection port and there wouldn't be a spot on it.
I hope you clean the upper receiver where the bolt carrier group slides in, especially where the gas tube hooks up. Also, I'm with the guy below me. Use CLP, its standard issue in the Corps. CLP does three things. It contains solvents to dissolve firing residue and carbon, it lays down a layer of teflon as it dries to lubricate, and it prevents rust from forming.
lol dude dont be so sloppy with the ckeaner that shit givers u mad cancer. and clean it every time u finish firing it or it will start jamming and even rusting.
quetip. but u know what the best thing to do is? for the lugs? as well as the lower erceiver and the rest of the upper is just fuckin hose it down. cuz the lube we use in the army also prevents it from rust so if the shit u use does to just do that. take a hose to the fucker and CLP the shit out of it. and it will work SOO fucking well after
