  • I was using a 10 foot jib poll.

  • I didn't notice the doghouse.

  • @PetersTrainz101 Thats because I was in it.

  • Very nice angle Maxx. I agree on the whistle being weird. What was the deal there? Was it the acoustics of the location or was the whistle altered in some way?

  • That was the engineer,s whistle. Back in the old days the locomotive had it,s whistle. Most engineer,s would put there whistle on when they started there shift. That way his family would know what train his was running. The sound of this one could not be missed. Engineer at the helm Bill Johnston.

  • There is a song about 745 it's called ghost along the rails.

  • @trainmaxx Not only that, I saw low shots of the train in some videos.

  • @railsrust By the sounds of it, it sounds more along the lines of a Virginian 3 chime. But of course I can be wrong.

  • Powells always have this eerie deep tone to them.

  • I can tell what that whistle is. It's a Powell 3 chime. Those Powells sound odd, although this video is old enough that it doesn't catch the beauty of it. They play one of those most interesting and original sounds you'll ever hear.

  • I LOVE THIS STEAMER.

  • love that whistle!!!

  • That is an interestin whistle.
