see the living conditions that my family and my neighbors live in. I have contacted housing authority and other agencies but they only accept complaints. My issue with the landlord is the conditions of the apartments she moves people in and makes promises of repairs but never fulfills them. Madea & Associates

  • looks just like MY house!! heavy rat infestation, caving in foundation and NOI heat!!. I am not paying him either now.

  • This isn't on Fort Belvoir the military post. This is located in Accotink Village, which is roughly near the corner of Richmond Highway and Backlick Rd, across from FB's Tulley Gate. Worth mentioning because anyone searching for Fort Belvoir get this as a result, and this is within the jurisdiction of Fairfax County, not the US Army.

  • Lord, you should definitely go to legal aid if you cannot locate a lawyer and keep all in writing and constantly bitch at code enforcement. I went thru this, but your place no way in hell could he get away with that if you persist. It is a lot of work, but you will win. Also have pictures.

  • Contact the building inspector and GET HIS NAME. Get a copy of the report and then head to the courthouse. File a failure to comply with building codes. Make sure you know these codes coz that's your weapon. On the day you go to court you will find free legal advisors to help you put your case together. People don't know about this and they go in there empty handed. If you win they will be given time to do the repairs. If not, your rent will go towards a contractor to do the work for them.

  • That was the problem. You can't with hold rent for non repairs.

She should have filed a case with the court and in turn payed the rent to them pending the outcome of the trial. It feels like the right thing to do and is probably just in doing so but in the courts eyes it's not legal. So there was judgment against her. I'd like to know what kind of building inspector failed to do his job there.
