The Scene was way better than Soul Train! I couldn't wait till 6 o'clock to watch Motown turn into Geektown, so we could really get down!

We watched daily from the very beginning in November 1975 all the way through the 80's. The best show in the World!!!!

Hey, I remember seeing this news item at a friend's house back around 2003 or so---it was the first time I'd ever seen anything on the Scene, considering how long it was on. I was too young to get on it (I think they didn't let anybody under 18 on, or something like that.) I remember watching the Scene---unfortunately by the time I was old enough to get on it,it had gone off the air. I read a book about Detroit TV which devotes a chapter to the Scene,but I can't remember/find the title of it!

Whatever happened to the 'twins' every girl was SO jealous of them; calling them slutty for the way they dressed and moved. but we all did the shaking booty ground dances back then. They were short and those wigs/weaves they wore were dam near as big as them. I liked the whole show & the dancers; whethere good or ugly, you were definitely were in for some entertainment when the show came on after school each day~

Woohoo fast freddie and that dam cape of his. LOL. I loved the mushroom hairdo of Lawanda's she was a helluva dancer, glad to see she went on with teaching & has 3 kids. Thats good. Lookit all that jeri-curl juice flinging. I was also out there in those dayz, Cabaret Connie, fo sho'....I BETCHA~ ;-)

Yes I remember your cousin Stacy she was beautiful, She and my Aunt Patricia danced on the show and became good friends. Im sorry for your loss may her spirit forever be rested!

I'm from Windsor Canada, which is right across the Detroit River from Detroit city. I watched it as a youth in Windsor. The Scene will always be apart of my childhood. Loved the Scene!

Yep...back in the day. I was downtown waiting in line trying to get in the Scene! Nope...my day didn't come. Too many darn kids. And what the heck...Fast Freddie a dance teacher. Stop it! Just gon' back to Detroit West and do the darn thang. Lol
