I started hearing about Dumble in the 70's. Reliability was the angle back then, nobody knew what tone was, you youngsters have invented it recently. He built or rebuilt Fender chasis with the best parts available, to a standard that was far beyond factory amps, for loud live.
$50K tone ; who knows. Before J**N M***R put the $70K bounty on any Dumble he could lay his hands on, they only cost $30K. El Rayo X played small clubs with Lindley's wall O' Dumbles; I have never heard anything like it.

Well before all the clones I can see why the appeal/price point(well when they were 10,000 lol)-The tone is smooth, natural sounding. You can cop something like it with compressor into a tubescreamer into a 65 BFDual Showman.

The reason its so expensive is it comes with the guy that twiddles your knobs while you play apparently... XD

@GDClarkProject You really don't have to stick up for a $50,000 dollar amp. The price cannot be justified. I'd take many amps over this one in tone.

Believe it, real Dumble's do not sound like boogies. When the amps are in the original element they're intended for they sound better than anything you'll ever hear. This particular amp was probably made for a single particular player with a certain guitar, certain effects in the effects loop, use with a Dumbleator (tube buffered effects buffer), certain speakers. Alexander Dumble voiced every amp for its own personal scenario. Not to mention this is only merely a camera mic.

Sorry, I just cant hear the 50,000 price tag.

Sounds like an...amp. A good amp, but just any number of post Boogie amps. I guess if you're actually playing it, you feel a lot of difference.

sick amp and playing
@grizzledgizzard The $50K thing that they keep bringing up has to do with having a sense of humor. :) This amp costs more than your car, but the board in the room they're recording in costs more than your house. All things in perspective, I think they're just having fun. :)
