im definately gonna give this a shot this year. I also agree though, I dont get how this is considered "my hometown" for the grand prize picture.

Now... first I will say that the grand prize winning photo is a GORGEOUS photo. It's well composed, and does envoke lots of emotion and thought. BUT!!!! I just don't get the "My Hometown" story from it. I saw lots of other examples in this video that looked more qualified to me.
