The only video they have of it is a little hazy, but Sports Illustrated and ABC have analyzed The Play and both said everything was legal. Plus the referee Charles Moffett said after the game "by the rules, we could have awarded a touchdown [to Cal] for [Stanford] players coming onto the field."

It's ironic that people look at American football players as mindless brutes, whereas that stereotype is more appropriate fro Rugby players...there's is no comparison between the games as far as strategy and I would venture to say that American football players are probably among the most intelligent on average compared to other team sports...u eurotypes will never get it...American Football is the ultimate chess game

To all the fools trying to say things like: "this happens all the time in rugby, its much better than American Football!": Unless i'm mistaken all of this could never happen in Rugby with four seconds left on the clock. That sudden death, "score this touchdown right now or lose", tension is something only a basketball buzzer beater can even begin to compare to.

Reason why rugby doesn't compare to football in my opinion is thats all there is to rugby.. football takes strategy, on both sides of the ball.
