Virtua Fighter 2 was the second ever game that I witnessed running on the Saturn console back in 1997 (Sega Rally being the first) and it pretty much blew me away. I remember vividly how smooth the game ran and how fluid the character animation was. The music was incredible, particularly the remixed tunes and it was a joy to play. It was among the first games that I picked up for the Saturn and one that I lost many happy hours to.

Thankfully, Virtua Fighter 2 is one of those early 32-bit 3D games that holds up well today. Even when recording the gameplay footage I was still amazed at how smooth the game ran and how fluid the combat flowed. AM2's port of the game from the Model 2 arcade board really is no mean feat given the substantial technical limitations of the Saturn hardware versus its arcade counterpart.

With a depth to the gameplay to match the stunning visuals and music, Virtua Fighter 2 easily stands out as one of the Saturn's finest fighters and games in general.

These recordings were originally made several years ago on VHS so sound and video quality may be degraded.

Yeah, I try to keep my videos as close to 10 mins, or less, as possible as they generally take hours to upload through Youtube. Don't worry though as you didn't miss much ;-)

Thks man ;-) Yeah, VF can be tough to get into alright. I'm no expert at it but I've always enjoyed the series despite the steep learning curve. VF5 is awesome I reckon. Used to spend quite a bit of time on it on xbox live.
