Excellent work of satire, this is.

I mean....you're not serious, are you? To pair this song, a song about "brotherhood from sea to shining sea," about "a patriot dream that sees beyond the years thine alabaster cities gleam undimmed by human tears," is to show a flagrant disregard for this nation's history and purpose. This song was written by immigrants, who, by today's definition, would've been "illegal" immigrants. Immigration is what strengthens/ed our nation and made it what it is today...

Only someone with a very limited understanding of this country and what makes it great would pair a patriotic song with an anti-immigration message.

Unless you're 100% Native American, STFU about illegal immigration. Our country was built on immigrants and pioneers. The Statue of Liberty says "give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free," and we need to do that or knock it down. Every single Mexican immigrant I've ever known worked their butt off to get here and get a better life. I know tons of lazy-ass white people (and yes I'm white) who were born here and don't do crap except sponge off the government.

I get tired of hearing the expression of anti-immigrant sentirment. Everytime I do, I feel a terrible prejiduce against me, a Hispanic, American citizen by birth. I know, in my heart, that many people flat out dislike my people because I hear it everywhere sometimes in subtle, or at other times very blatant ways. It is very sad but true and I feel sorry that many of you feel this way. You can only blame the government for its policies and not the people seeking better lives.
