@thedocumentarian I think a safe does more to protect guns than the government does. No ammount of registration will prevent weapons from being stolen, having the serial numbers filed off and used by criminals. We live in a world that weapons of every shape and kind are easy to get and easier to use. If criminals cannot get guns or ammunition in the U.S. they will get them south of the border. We would need all of the America's to cooperate or no dice.

I envy you Americans. I really really do. I may have to move over there just for this reason. UK gun laws suck. Our murder rate might be generally low (some places are still high) but other crimes are through the roof and it sucks I am not allowed to defend myself. Last year alone I was mugged 6 times, why should I have to put up with that!?
