This is a short intro video for the Webcam Zone Trigger software. For DIY motion detection projects, Zone Trigger is cheap and simple to use. Free trial version: http://www.ZoneTrigger.com
The trial version has a limit of 3 spots, but this limit is removed when you register for a full version, you can put as many Hot Spots as you want when you buy the software.
@OmegaUnfold Awesome!! thanks! Which version was it introduced? Also is there a limit to how many hotspots you can add in the latest version? I want to grid the whole video with sensitive hotspots but I couldn't add more than 3 in the older version I had. Thanks
The "pre-recording" buffer feature exist already: go to the Settings menu, Video Recording section, there is a drop list there in which you can select how much time back you want to buffer, up to 5 seconds. It is limited to 5 seconds because uncompressed video takes a lot of memory.
If you don't see this feature, you are probably using an older version of the software. Get the latest version from our website.
One feature this needs is it should be recording video in the background which is always ready (buffering) to record the action before it starts happening. As in, once a trigger is trigged the buffer adds on the pre-recorded video to captured file. As your software is now, (for example) say the camera catches a quick flash or a fireball explosion. By the time it starts capturing it doesn't have the few seconds before it actually happened. Please implement this feature! thanks!
