CBC radio interviews Ahmed Hussen, national president of Canadian Somali Congress about the Canadian Somali-Jewish Mentorship Project launch in Ottawa. The internship program will help young Somali college and university students as well as young professionals to find mentors in desired proefessions. Those individuals that are interested in joining this initiative will be matched with mentors from the Canadian Jewish community who will assist them in successfully pursuing their respective professions. The Canadian Somali Congress and the Canadian International Peace Project recognize the importance of providing mentoring to the Canadian Somali community. It is a fact that even though the Canadian Somali community is the largest African Diaspora community and one of the largest Muslim communities in Canada, it lacks a critical mass of professionals that can mentor Somali university, college and young professionals. This has necessitated the need to reach out to other communities in order to fulfill this need. The goal of the Somali-Jewish mentorship project is to aid in the creation of a successful cadre of Canadian-Somali professionals who can assume greater leadership roles to assist with the development of their own community as well as contribute to Canadian society at large. Experienced mentors do not just bring along a mentee into their profession but can also intervene at critical times to protect and guide a mentee in difficult circumstances. The Canadian Somali Congress in partnership with the Canadian International Peace Project will extend this project to other Canadian cities that have a substantial Canadian Somali population.

  • Oh c'mon guys! Jews have helped Somalis intergrate into CDN society since we've imigrated here. Jews personally helped my family get jobs when we lived in Montreal. What have Arabs done for us????????????????? NOTHING!!!!

  • Cross cultural is good,in fact, we somalis are africans and have nothing to do with unhelpful, unforgiving, and violent arab states. Of course not all arabs are violent, the civilians are mostly nice but their potentate manorches heed in hatred against jewish for they lost the game. However, I know that Jewish community is more interesting in than somalis themselves. It is time for Israel to create strong deep covers within somalis & somalia. And to do so, somlia & jew canadan offer opportunity

  • @somalification preach brother preach

  • Why don't they have this kind thing in england? Being young somali male(this is not my account)I feels as thought the we somali ppl love the arbs more then they love themselfs and where has left us.guest in other ppl countries it is time we sought out new friends becuse right now the whole world hates us just like they use to hate they jewish ppl.

  • @MyobuUzumaki no I am nt paranoid nor is it conspiracy theory. It is possible and complicated as you might not assume. By the way, I was just giving Youtubers hard time, it is just making people think about crazy things, you know I was not serious and I am not anti-jewish. I love jewish people

  • This means, Jewish people are very attached to Zionist and its embasy in Canada could fund and collect information somali-candan agents collect from somalia and transfered to Jewish state or basically hire its own deep cover ups. I know this because I am very familair with zionist tactics and I don't mean it is wrong. It just wants to get right info but somalis might understand that. It is beyong simple friendship and integration.

  • cross cultural understanding is good
