My Daughter Alana is 7 years old and truly a miracle baby. She was born at 29 weeks, the size of a soda can. At 14 weeks after a routine ultrasound, the doctors told me that she would not survive much longer or would die soon after birth. She had a severe case of Intrauterine Growth Restriction and was surviving on very little Amniotic Fluid; She wasn't growing properly inside the womb. The doctors gave me one choice and that was abortion. She always had a strong heartbeat, so in the end I choice life instead and she would be the one to decide when she was ready to come out. She spent 3 months in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and came home on Oxygen. She would later get a Gastrostomy Tube and it was removed last summer and she is still very small for her age. She is Visual and Hearing Impaired. She has Developmental Delays, Apraxia and is an Autistic Savant with Perfect Pitch. Due to her low motor skills in her hands, she is limited in the way she uses the piano keys. I'm truly bless to have her in my life, she brings joy each and every day.
