Have you read the reviews on Krugman's new book yet? http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004J8HXGS/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=t...
Obama is being a bit slow on the uptake, and McCain is trying to play both sides. This is a scary financial crisis. The most amazing thing was the arrogance of Paulson. He wouldn't explain why it would work, and no one else was allowed to put in their input. There is also no reason to believe it will work. Paulson has been wrong again and again.
The Bush administration can stay irrational longer than you can stay solvent. The Dodd proposal was much better than the one from Paulson. He wanted total power to use billions of dollars of tax money with no constraints. There is an intellectual argument that says we need to think a bit more about this plan. These people are not serious about solving the crisis. It is basically just a power grab.
