  • what about the rear movements?

  • This was great, thanks! Usually takes me a while to grasp this so watched it twice and now i've got it! haha

  • Nice video!

  • Two guys don't understand rise/fall, tilt and shift. :-)

  • You have a really nice way of sharing information. Not too abrasive or matter of fact. I initially wanted to skip through to find what I needed help with, but watched the entire video instead. Great explanation.

  • @ZoneIII My previous post is meant to clarify the subject for new LF photographers because I have found that movements can cause confusion for them. It's important to clearly understand what movements do and not confuse them. Rise and fall for both front and back merely reposition the image on the ground glass, usually to eliminate convergence. Fron swings and tilts only control plane-of-focus while rear swings and tilts control POF AND perspective.

  • @photog645 Ah, in addition, I just checked and the front lens board can rise about 2 inches at the most, but at that point, I'm sure I'd be losing part of the image since the lens doesn't have as large of an image circle as I'd like.

  • I just started watching some of these podcasts and I hope the rest have info like this. I've just gained access to what I believe to be a press camera (though it reminds me more of what I know a field camera to be). It's got rise/fall, side to side/ and tilt on the front standard (lens board only).

It doesn't seem to have as much rise and fall as something like this or a true studio view camera, so I'm curious as to how much I'll be able to fix the building merging parallel line problem.
