Dachande Tribute (Winterborn)

Dachande lacks any tributes as far as I can find, and come on... He's really the only yautja icon there is, and most definitely the greatest predator warrior we've seen. So here it is. The only comics that were used for this one were all from the original Aliens vs Predator, which was later novelized as Aliens vs Predator: Prey. My suggestion to those who wanna read it is to buy Prey, or the first volume of Aliens vs Predator: Omnibus. Because the single comics are worth over $100.00 at this point. The song used is Winterborn, by the Cruxshadows.

After watching through this it reminds me of how much the AvP movie ripped off so many elements from the original Dark Horse comics by Randy Stradley.

Even the marking on Dachande (Broken Tusk)'s helmet looks familiar here.

Same goes for the Predator marking Machiko's forehead with the Alien's blood the movie also ripped that off.

The team up between Machiko and Dachande here was fine and original.

But I find it awful the way they paired up the Predator "Scar" and Lex in the movie.

@ShaolinYautja Yeah, they took just enough that the original story will now never be made into a movie... While they deviated enough to make a sub-par movie that contradicted a lot of the old series and just could not deliver with its characters, while it denied us of the characters so many fans wanted to see on the big screen. At least to me, replacing Dachande and Noguchi with Scar and Lex was like making a Batman movie and replacing Bruce Wayne with John Everyman.

In theory I could, if I had the game, a method of getting videos from the game onto my computer, and had played through the game myself before so I more thoroughly understood the character. But... Sorry.

@DarkOpsPredator It is, though personally I hate the recolor job they did for the original AvP arc. Changing predators from tan to green, their armor from green to black, the doctor's personal coat from blue to white, facehuggers from pink to green... All around it seems like their new colorist was just conforming the colors to match trope stereotypes rather than staying remotely true to the original material or even the series as a whole.

I doubt it, unless Dark Horse Comics or Randy Stradley were mentioned in the credits in the first AvP movie, which I don't remember them being mentioned anywhere at all.

I guess the elements and various concepts from the original story of the comics themselves could be reused without requiring any permission somehow?

There was another AvP script by Peter Briggs which is closer to the very first AvP comics and the AvP: Prey novel, except Machiko had been renamed as Hiroko.
