Here we finally embark to found our new fortress. Strike the earth! My first concern is where to dig out our underground farming field and how to flood it with murky water.

  • Oops just realized this is just one of a series of videos and you use the same tileset as I do later on! Thanks for the videos!

  • @advancegreen I got used to Phoebus. Though I really don't mind playing in plain Ascii, it does not bring any advantages -- there the viewing screen is unnecessarily big and the keyboard cursor navigation is slower because you think you can reach object with your cursor which you see but then your cursor appears several tiles away from it. You spend too much time with the cursor there.

  • great video, I just started playing Dwarf Fortress and I'm totally addicted to it. Working on my second fortress after my first was ravaged by goblins who took a sick pleasure in slaughtering defenceless puppies who acted as the last stand along with a dwarf of mine who wasn't right in the head. This is an intimidating game to get in to but it's well worth it! Have you checked out the tilesets such as Mike Mayday's or Phoebus (what I use)?
