@GreenEyeBluey You have to look at this objectively. If the price of cigarettes increases, then fewer people will smoke. I can see some moral problems with not outright banning smoking nationwide, but the most efficient way to end the epidemic is to slowly ween people off.

@crateguy . omg....they don't want people to quite smoking! The taxes on tobacco help fuel a lot of social programs. For example, Clinton added projected 10 year income from taxes on tobacco when he was in office....they have and are already spending the money we don't even have yet. So the government needs those big bad tobacco users to keep on puffin' ...

#1 = irrelevant. The age of the people covered is not really very important. Also, could you provide me with a link where Nancy Pelosi (or any of the authors of this bill) refer to 35 year old people as children? I believe those 35 year old people are the mothers of the children. From what I read, the bill "was designed with the intent to cover uninsured children in families with incomes that are modest but too high to qualify for Medicaid."

Reason #3 = wrong. Are you claiming a sense of dependency on corporations is any different than one on the government? Beside that, you seem to be claiming that people will become infantile as opposed to simply changing the medium through which they are insured.

Reason #2 = wrong. You are against raising taxes on cigarettes? Health care costs will inevitably decline as smoking rates decline. One way to make smoking rates decline is to raise the price of cigarettes.

Ok reason number one...... Without the public option it is a sene of dependability on private insurance... liberals are against this.... Kid being insured BRING money into the system since they get sick and die a lot less and still pay into it... read the CBO..... still liberals against mandate without public option.

TGFO--Thank God for Obama. It's nut cases like the maker of this video that make people brain dead sheep-like followers. Marxism, Communism, Socialism....all of which are different, yet he's called them all. While I don't agree with everything Obama does, I expected it, because it'd be impossible to agree with EVERYTHING unless it's yourself that's prez. So again, this video is complete crap.
