Working on rivers in the scorching sun in the desert south west of America and the heat and humidity across the north of India. The start of the rainy season is the start of everything, again and again. In the Photosphere 2 the sun, moon, Olive Backed Sunbird, and squirrel footage are from the Sony SX40.The waterfall was shot with the Canon HV20 with the shutter speed set at 2000 in the first part and 1,000 in the second part. The rest of the video footage came from the Sony TRV355E. The stills were taken with the Sony DSC-H9.

  • I find the Sony SX40 useful for long shots in many light conditions and very good for right now shooting on the fly; keeping in mind it is a consumer grade camera. It is small, light and charges fast. You can judge for yourself by taking a look at the rest of my SX40 test series or visit some of the many others who are now using the Sony SX40 and posting the results. Enjoy!

  • 4 cameras were used to capture the images used in the Photosphere 2. The Sony SX40 is responsible for the sun, moon, the first 2 rain shots, Olive Backed Sunbird and squirrel. Only the sound at the waterfall was recorded by a video camera. All other sounds belong to those fine folks listed in the credits and were added in editing.
