Dear friends, Whenever we planned an i-ACT trip, we always hope it'll be the last one to Chad, and that the next one will be one to accompany refugees home to Sudan. Alas, we're at the start of our fifth trip, and it doesn't look like things are getting any better.
Today, Gabriel and Katie-Jay revisited the hotel where they spent a few sleepless nights during the coup attempt on President Deby. It was hard to see them go through 3 days of that, but what of our friends in the camps for their fifth year, who've seen much much worse?
We are also introduced to 2 new faces: Scott Warren and Colin O'Brien, STAND student leaders, who will be joining Gabriel and Katie-Jay on the trip.
Today's action:
Tell 5 Friends (or more!) about i-ACT: Send them to our website and a story of one of our friends.
Join the 100 Day Fast for Darfur that began on April 7th, the day of the Rwanda genocide and continues until July 15th. Each dollar donated to WFP will be matched.
This coming weekend, bring the faces and stories of our friends to your place of worship. Say a prayer for Darfur, and make a commitment to actively end the violence.
Salaam, Carolyn, for the i-ACT team
