FFVIII - Ami + "Carol of the Bells"
I realize this is a bit late for christmas, but I'd still like to share :D
I was listening to Carol of the Bells (my favorite christmas song) and I had the sudden briliant idea to combine it with the final fantasy prelude... ultimately that failed, but while attempting to put the two together, I heard a few chords that made me think... "Ami" So I tried it and it bloody worked! Matching the sounds and the songs was an interesting experiance, but it was so worth it in the end.
As for the name... I knew that Ami was a take on the french word for friend, and I was well aware from my 10th grade "freshmen" french class that bells in french was Belle. So i looked it up on google translator and finally found a mix of words that sounded good, and had some relevence to Carol of the Bells as well as Ami, that was Carol of "A Beautiful Friendship"
The song begins with Carol of the Bells wich merges into Ami mixed to sound more Chrismas like. Percussion holds of for a bit and the two songs truly begin to mix at around 1:16 ish. Then Ami begins again only this time, with percussion.
And just to note, the picture used here is a combination of the Chocobo Forest on Bika Snowfield, Trabia in Final Fantasy VIII (Which should be noted, I don't own FF or this picture). Along with a real tree that I screwed with alot in paint to get it all happy to look like it does... Paint. Not photoshop... PAINT! Mad skilz :D (FYI it's my first time at this sort of thing, so regardless of if it sucks... I'm proud of it!)
So I hope you enjoy :-)
