THE KING'S SINGERS

The King's Singers is an a cappella group. Their name recalls King's College in Cambridge, England, where the group was formed by six choral scholars in 1968. Although their popularity in the United Kingdom peaked in the 1970s and early 1980s, the group were fortunate to have made good contacts in the United States by this point, including Johnny Carson (who became a fan and invited them regularly onto his talk show), and began to reach wider audiences.

  • @JenaJinxed yeah i hear ya... it's kinda sweet, but lacking in heart...

  • The thing I don't like about this is how through jazz's history, people have tried to "whiten" the genre. Rhapsody in Blue, for example. This version does the same thing.. but it is nice i suppose haha.

  • oh, they're plugging their noses. that's how there making those fricken noises lol.

  • comparing this version with one by the KS later, and doing that with other arias, for me, singers until Bob Chilcott were modest on scene whereas those recruited after him swank much more during song and during claping (for exemple in 2007 watch how they put their finger in the mouth for the same aria, for the overture of sevilla, the tenor wants to sing only once the note while before the older tenor sung more times the note! and this for every singers and for the most arias!

  • wow these guys are crazyy good!!

  • @KristieHerself That would be Jeremy Jackman, who's now a very respected conductor; he's also the singer at the end of Blackadder II...

  • Awesome!! Gotta love the trumpet of the countertenor #2

  • i love the guy on the far left xD

  • Yes...very wonderful....

  • there so good . What the human viioce can do. I love it,,,
