In the past three weeks I have been treated really badly by this organisation. On two separate issues, both that prevent my quality of life from improving...and my sin?

My sin is the want to work myself out of poverty, and to aspire to own my own home. If I was mega rich, or, if I decided simply to resign myself to desolation, the Council would have no quarms in seeing to my needs. In a similar fashion, if I went out and got a big family I couldnt support, they would step in to provide for me

But I choose to work hard in a low paying job and rent alone. That appears now to be classed as the worst possible place a citizen in this country can place themselves in.

To think I pay them 70 pounds a month To remove the waste thats constantly left outside for a week or more, to provide a police service that wont allow me to defend myself, a Fire service which is constantly on strike, and an ambulance service containing paramedics that must complete risk assessments before they decide whether to aid someone or not.

GOD save us all!

  • You are spending your housing money on pies, bird food and gym membership. There are 220 acres of parkland in Harrogate to walk around. Use it more, let your birds free and go feed them in the park. Walk there by the way, its free and good for you and you'll lose money.

Go and get a job at Asda or Morrisons stacking shelves. Its work, you can save up your money, you'll stop being depressed and start interacting with people instead of your webcam and feel better.

  • @sijw1977 Firstly I do work at ASDA, I am in FULL TIME employment. You obviously have no idea the amount of money it takes to live alone! Secondly, without the motivation of spending money at the gym, I know I will never bother to run around parks...and finally, my Birds are NOT NATIVE to this country...if I let them out, they would starve to death because they eat Millet and grains of the type that DO NOT grow in this country! Budgies and Zebra Finches are native to AUSTRALIA.

  • @pulvaris I live alone, I work, I go the gym, I don't have pets as they are a waste of money. Glad you have a job, I hope it helps you feel better.

Get yourself outside more. The money you will save on feeding your pets will do you a decent pair of waterproofs, trainers/boots and a warm hat and gloves. I used google, try Rock One instead of the chain stores - seems to be a good few bargains there to help you get fit.

  • @sijw1977 Pets give my company, and the whole lot cost less then a fiver a week. Thats a good price to pay for company. As for getting out and about...have you viewed any of my last twenty videos uploaded this week...my journey along the ringways path and exploring birk crag? have a loooookey...I even saw wild deer!!

  • @katasaifa IMHO as the Fire Service is an Emergency Service, its employees should never be allowed to strike...and as for wages and conditions...I suspect the Fire Service personnel get paid ALOT more then most people in retail...but you dont see us striking do you? What of the people who might have died as a result of the strike in fires? What about the fact I pay my council tax for a service to be provided. If you strike, I shouldnt have to pay tax that month to cover your service.

  • @MINGCHINGBOY There is plenty of housing, thats not the issue, the problem is, if you live alone, you are dependant on a low wage, there is NO way to EVER afford to move. You have to get a better job,...and if you are alone, it needs to be twice as well paid as if you were married, to get the same amount. it doesnt matter how hard I work, we all get paid the same where I work, whether we work, or do nowt. But I dont specifically want to leave England, just own, or be moving towards, my own home!

  • You have been made state dependant. Grab your own life back. Earn, and buy your own house. If you don't have enough money (and I've been there) ask yourself why? Why can't millions get on the ladder - wages too low, and houses too dear - why? - supply and demand. Too many immigrants, not enough housing. Simple. Oh, and by the way, I fought out of my poverty by hard work, right-wing christian attitudes and a determination to leave the UK to the likes of yourself & the immigrants.

  • @MMAmischief I think they count on people not to question them. But I am quite distressed about this. Times are hard...and being alone and in low paid full time employment seems to be the worst position possible...its worse then being an illegal immigrant. Why should I suffer because I am alone and dont earn a lot?? does it make my contribution to society any less valid?? because by exclusion of so many perks the unemployed get...it feels like it!
