  • I love linux and all the desktop special effects and all the free stuff but its just not enough for my desktop home computer cause there no gaming :( Gotta say that windows did a good job with windows 7 so mac and linux will have a hard time catching that cause for now i haven't had 1 single problem with 7 its even more stable than xp so ..... Sorry linux but still stayin with 7

  • @Wildthing1984 I guess you are right. When I made this Video I made it on Vista, I was so frustrated with that OS. Now I have Win-7, and I have to admit that it is very stable. I still love UNIX but I think they are getting a bit behind especially with compatibility with other applications. I guess programmers design their software aiming to win PCs and Macs mainly due to commercial reasons, at the end, win & Mac users would have the money to spend in buying their software. :(

  • Nice animation! Is that Mancandy in Blender?

  • @simonschellaert Yeap ! The famous Mancandy. Created on Blender.

  • @bluephreakr :O Its call the liberty of expression :P

  • Very mature! I am sure your parents are proud of you.

  • @bluephreakr Hell if i care if your sticking to linux lol if you like losing your time that your thing And by the way windows can also run from a usb drive you are well misinformed but i'll let you google that and get educated ! The reason why nobody is doing it is cause they have something call a " LAPTOP " when there going out of there house for a longtime or they also have a thing call " SMARTPHONE " and " NETBOOK " now go put your usb up your *** and see if it make you smarter

  • @Wildthing1984 So you say you want to use Windows? I run Ubuntu, straight, on My machine. If I ever bump into you in real life, you are more than welcome to put a USB drive of some kind in My computer and use Windows.

The question is, can you? That's your challenge. If you can do that, and NOT need Linux running it in a VM as a workaround, with full DirectX 9/10/11 functionality, I'll give up Linux for good. Keep the back of your PC and monitor visible at all times, okay? No PS.

  • @bluephreakr Linux being free doesn't make it better. Unity is a total fail on 11.10 , its the dumbest thing they ever did now it look like shit . As for my computer getting hit by a terrible virus ...... well possible but even at that point i still have a recovery dvd who gonna fix it in 15 minutes or less :P and my data is all backed up to a cloud and on external drive so no need to worry if that ever happen someday .... if it ever happen !! Good luck wasting your time lol !

  • @Wildthing1984 The <1% reasoning is the oldest piece of FUD in the book. I've been a Windows user since I touched a Windows PC, but there is something about a system free of charge, with unlimited reinstalls (just in case you screw up THAT badly) and doesn't require a license keycode that can get lost or damaged.

Linux does everything you need it to do, free of charge. You'll thank me when a virus corrupts your copy of WIndows, and LibreOffice or Gimp on Linux saves your bacon.

  • @bluephreakr Well most open source program on linux like liboffice , amarok , gimp are available on windows too. So what can you do on linux that i can't do on windows ???? Desktop effects , i don't need them there for kiddies ! You've got no virus ??? of course there no virus there less than 1 percent of linux computer on the planet , there no way a hacker would be interested building a virus for an OS who has 1 percent of the world user on it..... sooooo tell me what can you do that i can't ?

  • @Wildthing1984 While it is not My place to say, and at the risk of sounding liuke a Linux fanboy, if the only thing stopping you from using any Unix (Linux, Unix, BSD) is gaming, then you either get your priorities straight or quit using computers altogether.

There's a reason game consoles are made. Unix is made for people who work. While I game myself with small, compatible titles via Wine, that still does not sway my views; Work > Play, Gaming != Using a computer.

  • @TheJeyar Unfortunately, I've had very poor luck getting games to run under WINE, personally—much of that is due to a refusal to spend four days hunting down every possible configuration tweak. I'm sure someone will take away my official Geek card for that. Frankly, I have better things to do. I love linux for work but for gaming its a totally different story

  • @TheJeyar I have play some game on linux and i'm sorry but games are really crappy. And i really don't understand how windows can be so hard on your wallet ...... an 120 $ program that you can have forever or keep 3 years until a new os arrived..... damn you must be pretty poor. You should calculate the time it take to fix every single problem or set every parameter for your game to play on linux and value your hourly time ..... i'm sure in the end its costing you a lot more for a lot less
