Are you sure that Africa was called Nubia before because according to some of my sources Nubia was only referred to the kingdom Nubia in north east Africa. However Africa was called by many other names Ethiopia, Corphye, Ortegia, Libya and Alkebulan (mother of earth, garden of eden) being the oldest one used by the Moors, Nubians, Numidians, Khart-Haddans (Carthagenians), and Ethiopians.
