This is a common old hymn but not of the Sacred Heart Tradition. It was written by William Kirkpatrick in 1892 to win the heart of his soloist, a non believer. It worked. Commonly found in most old post 1900 hymnals, but I don't know the name of the one the singers found in the racks.
