  • Wow thanks 4 the vids, i get my lower jaw surgery on 26th Jan, and to be honest i can't wait..its been a long time coming, I have had braces on for 18mths. I too have an underbite and origianally they were going to move both jaws but now it is just going to be my lower, 9mm and 11mm, was great to see yr postings and trust me i have watched loads since my process began. So suprised so many people have the same thing, i felt like i was alone with it growing up, I'm 40 now so left it a little late!

  • Congratulations on getting the surgery date, i bet it's nice to finally have a date set after all this time. I'm 26 and waiting so long actually helped in that i wasn't nervous at all going into surgery. It was nice having videos to see other people's experience but i've learned that everyone has a different recovery/experience. It's still educational and some questions can be answered so if you have any i could answer i'd love to help. It's a really intense surgery, i wish you the very best!

  • It's so great to see your progress. thanks for keeping us posted. It is really reasuring.

  • Thanks, I felt like I was doing a lot of videos but before my surgery I watched a ton of other people's videos and I was SO curious about the whole process that I figure making too many is better than making too little.

  • you are beauitiful

  • Yeah i also have about a 2 mm overbite right now its a little bit more apparent than your I think too. Also i don't think my bite is as bad as i thought before. I think apart of it has to do with the muscle atrophy in my jaw from not using it the past couple of week. My surgeon removed almost an inch of bone from my bottom jaw to move it back 9 or 10 mm because of how angular my jaw was. Its really crazy how different i look, but im glad i did it, and once my bite comes together its gonna be fun

  • Sometimes it's hard for the orthodontist to get the molars properly aligned because of the pressure of the uneven bite (you had before). I'm sure they'll have a much easier time getting your teeth in place now that your bite is correct : )

  • First of all, congrats on the surgery. Second, I never had a splint in my mouth so I'm not sure how that works but I can tell you my molars feel like they fit together o.k. when my mouth is closed. There is a small overbite in the front but I've been told by my surgeon that is normal and my orthodontist will perfect things. I hope everything is sorted out with your bite- I'm sure you'll feel better soon.

  • Also everything is looking great for you so far congradulations!

  • i got my surgery done about 2 weeks ago as well and i just got my splint out today, I was wondering if your teeth fit together properly?, because after i got my splint out i realized that my teeth do not occlude at all. Even though the ortho said this is normal and will be fixed I feel like i have an open bite in the back of my mouth where my molars are.
