The Muslims did not collect the prophetic medicinal teaching in the same way that they did jurisprudence and other matters. The foundations of the Greek knowledge agreed with the Islamic so we grafted our tradition onto theirs and we do not deny that and hold the Greek philosophers in great respect. In medicine we hold the great teachers to be Hippocrates, Galen, Ibn Sina (Avicenna) and Ar Razi. We gathered the Greek knowledge combined it with the Prophetic, Ayurvedic and even Chinese.
