having been at this for about 4 years now. I can see what Hes saying. It is a slow progression. I obviously will never be at his level (who is?) But it is inspiring to hear him say, it takes time...

I'm watching this video as a beginner guitarist. These guys are my inspiration, just watching him do it so naturally and easily makes me feel like I could just pick up a guitar and do exactly what he does. Truth of the matter is-as much as I'd like that, it just won't happen and so I find I am doing MY best to 'creep' forward. I've watched lessons that show you exactly what to play, and i'm finding, just a general jump start like Knopfler shows us is all you need to start your practising.

Awesome! I love his comment about slowly creeping forward as a guitarist. So true. We mortals tend to think that the genius did not have to work at it.
I think it is unfair to try to say who is the greatest. There are many (Clapton, Gilmour, Knopfler) to name a few. But Knopfler is certainly in the top class and my favorite. 'Brothers In Arms' is the greatest song ever IMO. Mark Knopfler's lyrics seperates him from the pack for me.
