@Mr1920s : did you ever find "Paramount on Parade" (from which this clip was taken) on DVD?

4/7/34 ,Helen sued the Fleischers & Paramount for $250,000 saying Betty decreased her popularity by using her way of singing. 5 women who did Betty's voice testified. Little Ann Little told the court "boop-boop-a-doop" started as "ba-da-in-de-do", became "bo do-de-o-do", & finally into "boop-boop-a-doop". 5/2, Paramount dug up a film of Baby Esther of the early days of sound, singing with the phrase "boop-boop-a-doop". It won the case. Source: The Fleischer Story & newspaper clips)

Helen Kane started the voice thing and Mae Questal replaced her after Kane helped her perfect her voice when the studio bosses turned Kane down for renewal. Or so I've heard.
-
-gasp-! now I hate betty boop.
-
Helen Kane did not do the voice of Betty Boop. The voice was done by a copycat called Mae Questal.
-
It wasn't a Copy, IT was her! Helen Kane Was Betty Boop!

How a judge could not see that Betty Boop was a copy of Helen Kane's style and voice, is beyond me. Oh well, matters little now, good vid, Should be more Helen Kane around out there...
By the way.. Is this available on dvd anywhere?
