You heard of an herbivore, a carnivore, an omnivore and an insectivore (courtesy of Timon & Pumbaa)? Well, Tyrannosaurus Debt is a moneyvore!

Financial interest has to be tied to somebody. And the way American copyright law works, it protects billion dollar companies' profits on creations made by dead people while simultaneously restricting those intellectual properties from potential competitors, creators, artists, et c. That hurts the market and restricts content creators and artists.

Copyright laws are necessary. But in America they last way too long. 20 years is long enough. 70 years after the creator is dead is just corruption.

Better? Because it protects the financial stability of a creation of a man who died in 1966?

How would it be worse if others were allowed were allowed to use Cinderella (who was a German folk tale before Disney)? It would allow more creators to produce more. It would allow more companies to compete with Disney's huge monopoly.

The law makes the market stagnant which hurts creators, companies, and consumers. The man who created Snow White and Cinderella is dead, so who are we protecting anyway?

Disney DID not screw up the American copyright law they made it better, they use copyright as financial backing as to not loose money to other companies to make versions of their movies that are more popular like cinderella etc. so um your wrong
