My XBMC Setup

I first tried the PVR build of XBMC which you have to run another mediacenter program in the background, like mediaportal, then use a XBMC plugin. I never got it working right and I never really needed full PVR type functionality like recording shows. If you have an internal PC tuner card you have to go this route. But if you have an network tuner like the HDHomerun you can create text files that directly access various channels on the network tuner. You can then access these files in XBMC.

I really like your set up and im wanting to know how did you get LIVE TV, what tutorial did u use/what program did u use thanks

@CaptainCamMac I then went the extra step and integrated these files with the existing "TV Guide" plugin. Had to edit a few lines of code, was not hard. Here is info on how to do that horum.xbmc[dot]org/showthread[­dot]php?t=118539

XBMC actually does a really good job of identifying all my shows automatically by itself. You just need your file names in the right formats. "Showname - S01E01" works the best. For some shows that it wouldn't identify properly I used a program called "Ember" to manually get the assets.

This looks really good, it has tempted me into doing it myself, I have a nice revo here and a xbmc live install, maybe I can get rid of the WDTV Live...... I used to run XBMC on the old xbox1 up in the bedroom until recently........

What are you using to catalouge and get coverart and nfo for your movies/tv ?
