My ex husband was 24 years older than me and it was soo cool to experience music through his eyes and ears, and this was our favorite Sunday song, I still listen to it and think of him and JC, it is hard to listen to sometimes, but it lifts me up
brought back a memory. It was probably in the early 80’s, in the Army, was woke up one EARLY Sunday morning on “alert”, loaded up in a convoy of “Deuce and a half’s”, armed enough to destroy the world, traveling across Germany to places unknown ( I am sure the direction was East). Someone turned his “bro-box” on and this song played. We all went quiet; no one spoke and listened to the song. When the song ended, everyone sorta just looked up at each other with their blood shot eyes and grinned.
This is not the clip, but, the one CD w/this clip that JC does (the 1 with Jackson, and ends with One Piece at a Time on it) well, every time I hear this song, it RIPS me APART inside!! In my youth I woke up all too many a Sunday (right outside a bar) on a lonely sidewalk, & the guy that cleaned-up always gave me a beer or 2 for breakfast and after, I would look at the world (like the words in this song) Wishin to the Lord that I was STONED! THANK U KRIS! RIP JC, I WILL ALWAYS LOVE & REMEMBER U!
He " Is " a Great Singer Songwriter, performer, lets not overlook the big Picture, He is honestly a great Story Teller.Telling stories we all can relate to.God Bless him and his Family
