Oceanics of the Red Sea - A Shark Diving Experience

A trailer from a diving liveaboard visiting some of the best dives sites of the Egyptian Red Sea: Elphinstone, Deadelus and the Brothers. The aim is to dive with the amazing and graceful oceanic whitetip shark! Previously this species was commen in open water, but during the last 30 years or just 3 shark generations it has been decimated by 98% due to intense shark finning. In addition to the oceanics there is a good chance of encountering thresher sharks at the Brothers, and the coral walls are simply beautiful!

Beautiful footage. I've heard of the bottle tactic before, does it actually attract sharks?

Thanks, @jontywhiter. Well, we certainly saw the oceanics when using the bottle tactic, so it difinitively does not scare them away. We also saw sharks without the bottle tactic, so I can't really tell.

Which camera, housing and lights?

@xscapemusic - thanks. The camera was a Sony HDR HC1 in a Light & Motion Bluefin housing. I used two Light Cannon 100 from UW Kinetics.

Hi Tomer,

Thank you for the positive comment and your inquiry. The 30 min full version is unfortunately not available to the general public, since the file size and length are not compatible with YouTube. Being a hobbyist I typically present the full version at diving schools, diving events and other social events. So if you are ever in Denmark, you may bump into me and my video ;o)
