I was lucky enough to see Gurtu perform live in the early '90's in a small venue in Chicago, and his performance was probably the most stunning show of drumming I've ever seen, even better than live performances I've seen by Bozzio, Chambers, Bruford and Peart.



Joe Zawinul and Trilok Gurtu.....two uncommon music explorers. We must be grateful to their music approach, to their versatility. Joe, I hope you're on a numb jamming with Jaco. You taught us the fusion.
